4) How To Transition Your House To A Home

Knowledge

We are on a journey together to transition our house to a home. Has anyone paid attention to the progression so far? We began by seeing the place of skillful and godly wisdom. We gave a lengthy explanation and many examples on that. We moved on to seeing the place of understanding and its direct relationship to stability. Now, we want to take a look at the place of knowledge. I want us to see that, as we progress, we are building upon wisdom. Every transition is upon wisdom. The word tells us that Christ is our wisdom.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NIV)

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Our emphasis is the kingdom even in our homes. The home setting/activities is a perfect environment where lifestyle is demonstrated. Daily routines and habits are easily identified in a home because that is the environment in which your style; your life is lived. We call it lifestyle in a home setting.

Proverbs 24:4 AMP

And by knowledge its rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.

It is very important to fill the rooms of your home with fine furniture and beautiful draperies. Please do so. I will say this, one of the best ways to furnish your home, is with your words. Did you know that there is a scripture for every room of your house? This is so good. The Word of God has made provision for everything.

The words of your mouth can furnish every room of your house and that is why we talked against idle words and idleness.

Please do not permit idle words and idleness in your home. It is as dangerous as poison. Our words create and that means the idle or vain words we speak will create something we may not want. Idleness leads to poverty and more. I do insist that you do not permit such in your home be it from guests or inhabitants of the home.

So, I will share with us a few examples of scriptures that we can use to furnish our homes.

Picture yourself walk into every room of your home just like you will do when you are about to place furniture in every room in your home however, this time, the furniture are your words. For example, you walk into

-The kitchen/pantry/dining area and furnish it with these scriptures

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11

-Living room/foundation/heart of the home

Through wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

Love one another as I have loved you. John 13:34

Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Psalm 127:1a

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Matthew 7:24

-Children’s bedrooms

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Children are a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is a reward. – Psalm 127:3

Quote scriptures like these and personalize them. Speak them until you see results because you will see results if you do not faint. Get everyone in your home involved in the process. Let the earth bare witness with you even as you make these declarations and when the time comes it will be remembered. Please do not think objects are deaf. Everything has an ear to hear. The earth included.

So far we have seen two ways of furnishing our homes knowledgeably using physical furniture and the words of our mouth. The next thing we will look at is how to furnish the chambers of the hearts of the inhabitants of our homes.

Have you ever thought about filling the chambers or the rooms of the hearts of the inhabitants of your home with the treasures of wisdom and knowledge of God the Father? How about filling the different compartments of their hearts with kingdom mysteries and kingdom systems that will forever keep the heavens open over them? Think about it. How about teaching them things that will last a lifetime?

You do so by teaching them the word at a scheduled time and through your lifestyle. This is only possible when you possess the knowledge in these areas. That is why we stated earlier that this process starts with you. The transition begins with you. The transition is only as successful as your personal transition. Your ability to live this transition effortlessly will have a direct impact on your environment.

It’s about advancing the kingdom. Remember, it’s all about relationships. From your home will come nation builders, kingdom giants, generational pacesetters, role models, and pioneers. Also remember, the model home is not a perfect home; it is an excellent home!
